Awards 2010

The Bighearted Scotland Awards is a glittering black-tie evening and is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in Scotland and 2010 was no exception. The Awards ceremony was held on Friday 10th September in the newly refurbished Grand Central Hotel in the heart of Glasgow and was hosted this year by Scotland’s very own Lorraine Kelly; a Bighearted Scotland Patron.

The Finalists on the evening were awarded from eight different categories including Business Person of the Year, Carer of the Year, Child of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Fundraiser of the Year, Sports Person of the Year and of course The Bighearted Scot of the Year. There was also a new category created to reflect the level of high quality nominations made in 2010. This new category was called The Bighearted Heroes Award and was created as judges felt there were particular nominations that really stood out from others and deserved recognition but which did not fit within the other category criterias.

The Awards evening celebrates unsung heroes from all walks of life as well as personalities from screen, sport, business and media and always hosts some really fantastic entertainment! This year our guests had the opportunity to hear the voice of an angel; Nicola Cassells and to be entertained by top dance performances from The Dance School of Scotland and The Kitsch Kats. After the Awards evening had ended, everyone danced the evening away with top DJ, Paul Mellon and his toe-tapping Disco Set.
