The categories for the Bighearted Scotland Awards are:
Bighearted Scot of the Year

This will be a person who has made a significant difference to the lives of others through fundraising, volunteer work or by contributing greatly to their local community.
Child of the Year
A boy or girl under the age of 16 who, through his or her own selfless efforts has made a difference to the life of an individual or group.
Carer of the Year
Sponsored by SPD Print Solutions
This will be presented to an individual who has made a significant difference to the lives of others on a voluntary basis through day-to-day support or by looking after their general welfare.
Charity Volunteer of the Year
This will be an individual who has raised any amount of money for a charity or charities in exceptional circumstances.
Social Entrepreneur of the Year
This will be an indivdual who has established a business that has had a significant influence and created benefit for a local community or group.
Unsung Sports Person of the Year
Sponsored by Decathlon
This will be an unsung sports personality living in Scotland who has made a major contribution to society.
Business Person of the Year
This will be presented to a businessman or woman who has contributed to making a difference to young people, disadvantaged people or communities in Scotland.

Entertainer of the Year
A celebrity who has made a positive difference in the life of an individual fan or group or has made an outstanding contribution to charitable work.
